SketchCan has a wealth of experience putting children’s ideas, passions and interests centre stage. Here are some of our previous projects…
Child-Led Performance
Celebrating children’s creativity through traditional and non-traditional art forms.
“It was so fun being a trapeze artist in the circus. I painted my own face and did a swinging upside down trick 3 times!”
Paula, Age 6

Street Parade
Providing a structure in which children can express their individuality within a team.
“The children in our early childhood classes worked with Lydia for 6 weeks leading up to the annual Fasnacht Parade. She supported their creativity by offering lots of interesting open-ended materials and age appropriate methods of design and construction. This approach enabled even our youngest students to work on their costume and mask projects independently.
Sandrine Graham, Early Childhood Coordinator, ISB, Switzerland
Film
Creating exciting roles for children in community film projects.
“Our children had a blast participating in filming days with Martin and Lydia. They worked closely with the girls, developing scenes in response to their particular interests and connections with the plot line and props.”
Siobhan Wealan, Parent

Public Art
Designing projects that invite children to participate in the making of large scale collaborative artworks.
“Painting life-size papier-mâché racehorses was a real highlight for the children attending the annual Ascot Family Race Day, and it’s wonderful to have a piece of community art to exhibit in our racecourse foyer.”
Peta Dayus-Jones, Marketing Manager, Windsor Festival
Guided Drawing
Providing a scaffold for children to gain confidence in drawing images to express ideas.
